Episode 10 — Treveri Cellars

In the season finale of Made in the Valley, we find the perfect Yakima Valley sparkling wine to ring in the new year at Treveri Cellars in Wapato.

Owner and winemaker Jüergen Grieb moved from his native Germany to Washington in the 1980s to continue a family tradition of winemaking. In 2010, Grieb made the decision to open a sparkling wine house, the only one of its kind in the state in what he calls “one of the best growing regions in the world.”

“I love what I’m doing, people really enjoy the sparkling wine,” Grieb said. “We get a lot of people who come in and say, ‘We don’t really like champaign,’ but once we talk the people into trying our wine they say, ‘Oh, this is so different.’”
